Orson Scott Card reviews Star Wars

This is one of the best reviews I have ever read, period. First of all, it is absolutely dead on the mark. Secondly, he never gives away anything that isn't already known. And finally, you can feel Card's pain in the terrible writing, especially if you have read any of Card's books (he is a terrific dialogue writer).

Yeah that was a good analysis.

I just watched Empire on DVD (had't watched it in years) this afternoon. I was amazed at how competent the writing was in comparison to the films that followed. I also found the lack of CG effects refreshing.
