Washburn to miss next start
Jarrod Washburn was on-target to be activated from the DL and make his August 5th start in Minnesota, but it now looks as though he has been scratched. Washburn was scheduled to throw off the mound yesterday, but reported discomfort in his inflamed rib cage while warming-up. He will not be activated from the disabled list, and Ramon Ortiz will get the start in his place.
Washburn's next scheduled start is August 10th against the Orioles. It is not clear whether he will make that start.
